Founded in 1909, Hutt District Cricket Club is a leading club for senior and junior cricket in the Wellington region.
Hutt District Cricket Club was founded in the 1908-09 season to play in the Wellington Cricket Association (WCA) district competition. The club flourished in the early 1920s, winning WCA Senior championships in 1923, 1926 and 1927.
In 1923 the Club adopted is colours of dark blue and light blue (know today as Royal and Mediterranean Blue).
Three more WCA senior championships were won prior to affiliating with the newly formed Hutt Valley Cricket Association (HVCA) in 1946. Schoolboy cricket was introduced at this time.
In 1948, the Club won its first HVCA senior championship. Following further titles in 1965, 1967, 1971 and 1974. And in 1974 the Club also finished runners up at the inaugural National Club Championship in Auckland. The Senior men won 3 more HVCA titles 1979, 1981 and 1992 before the dissolution of HVCA. The club integrated into the combined Cricket Wellington inter city completion for the 1996/97 season.
